Unabridged:

Born in rural Western Massachusetts to proud parents, I spent my formative years in a wonderful world I created with "Kitty", "Puppy" and Strawberry Shortcake. My grandmother used to take me blueberry picking, my mom taught me to create candles from crayon stubs, and my father put me on the back of his bike throughout the summer.

When my sister left for college, I bought my first plant. Whether I was trying to fill the void of having her move out from across the hall, or not, I may never be sure...but what I am sure of is how one plant changed my life.

My interest in plants quickly grew, and before I knew it I was working on a farm and applying to agriculture schools, ending up at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. During my second year at Cornell, I took a photography class. Within months I changed my major, thinking being a farmer was no longer in my cards, all the while keeping my windows filled with healthy greenery.

Flash forward ten years. Living in New York City, and working in publishing as a web designer, I have maintained my interest in photography, and have more plants than I can count. The farmer is still in me, but now I look at that world with a photographer's eye.

I taught myself how to knit a few years ago out of necessity. Knitting is an amazing way to relax and express creativity. Even though I have mainly been knitting socks and sweaters, knitted pieces are as much a piece of art to me as any of my photographs. I am experimenting with ways to render my photographs in knitted fabric. Hopefully I will have examples online soon.

This brings me to my life now, as a photographer, web designer, and knitter living in New York City.
